There are several different accounts of the haunting on Bayview Bridge. One of the most popular versions of the story revolves around a young woman who had hired a dressmaker for her wedding during the 1940s. The girl did not own a car, so she walked to the dressmaker for her final fitting, but on her way home she was attacked by a pack of wild dogs, killing her and leaving her spirit to roam the bridge for eternity. A similar version states that the girl was actually running away from her wedding and was run off the bridge by a car, and another claims she was driving after the wedding with her husband when she crashed into a guard rail, killing them both and prompting her ghost to endlessly search for the groom.

Yet another alternate states that the woman was a young mother who was crossing the bridge in a car with her child. There was a car crash which the woman survived, but the child died; when the woman eventually passed away here ghost returned to search for the child she lost. Motorists have reported seeing handprints form on their windshields while driving on the bridge, and there was even an incident in which a new car came to a dead stop on the bridge for no apparent reason. Misty figures came into sight before the car started up again.

When I was about 8 -9 we lived close to the bridge and village falls cemetery. Im 55 now and had a strange experience on the bridge . I know I saw someone either drowning or being pulled under. I told my mother and stepfather but they played it down as my imagination. I cant unsee what I saw . It looked like a woman with long black hair. Her face was muddy. I didnt see anyone else except for the woman . I couldnt tell you what she was wearing but I saw her. Also on the road by the super saver..a little child in the woods. But this actually looked ghostly. Thats my experience

I lived close to the cemetery which is in proximity to the bridge. I can say this for a fact the bridge always frightened me. Something felt strange there. I saw something once what appeared to be someone drowing in the lake which use to have raw sewage in it.. I told my mother and stepfather and they just treated it as my imagination. But even now and im 55 was 8 or 9 back then I know what I saw. I cant unsee it. And it was someone either fighting to keep from going under or someone trying to drown themselves.

  • Girl On The Bridge

Do not stop your car on the bridge. The lady will get appear in your passenger seat. I grew up in Graysville/Adamsville and everyone in the area knows that bridge is haunted. Not to mention the slaves that were hung from the bridge as well.

The last story is the one I'm most familiar with. I remember my son's grandfather(was volunteer EMT at Minor Fire department), he talked about men in diving suites looking for the baby.
