Nancy Mountain
Haines Island, AL 36444
"Nancy Mountain," located on Haines Island, is said to be haunted by the spirit of a Civil War-era woman. Legend has it that Nancy and her husband lived on this mountain at the time of the Civil War and that their son enlisted in the army when it began. After some time word reached Nancy that her son had been killed, but no body was ever found so she walked the trails of the mountain every night, carrying a lantern and a pail of water for her son. Nancy eventually passed away too, and before long her house crumbled and disappeared as well, but some say her spirit can still be seen walking the mountain trails at night, lantern and pail in hand.
Reviews
Me and some country folks were talking and they said that they have seen a lantern just floating there. I then asked "What in right mind is that normal to see in the middle of the woods".
