Cooley Cemetery
Guntersville, AL 35976
Located on Brindle Mountain near Manchester Drive, Cooley Cemetery is a fair bit off the beaten path. The oldest dated tombstone on its grounds is from after the Civil War, but there are also many unmarked graves in the area as well. Every so often a mysterious mist will cover the tombstones, but not the surrounding woodlands, and a cold breeze has been felt on even the hottest summer days. Visitors have seen several spirits, including a young Native American boy, and older man walking with his dog, and a bearded man dressed in a Confederate uniform.

not one to believe in anything like this, but some friends and I went and were joking around with the “make yourself known” and right about the time someone finished that sentence a very loud noise came from the woods. Naturally we take off back to the main gate to decide if we were going to walk back and while discussing it, the noise of something hitting the ground pretty hard came from beside us but not even a stick was laying anywhere in that specific area. Safe to say that we did in fact not end up walking back in.
The walk isn’t the best and the drive itself is even a little sketchy, but overall it was a fun experience.

Been going there my whole life used to go there and drop acid and skip school..then there was little Albert he has a few verified bodies under his belt besides getting caught digging up graves for gold in the teeth and that's not even the strange stuff...bout 25 yrs ago we been clubbing and partying all night it was bout 230 in am.im taking my friend back to JBs cabin &:pass this guy walking down the dirt road on the upper road.."nobody walks here"" except thieves and tweakers ..as we went by he didn't even look up..so I backed up and said ..sup dude...nothing not even a stare ...I said you in wreck...said yep... someone hurt? Yep....take us to him...so dude get into back of truck we go to third curve going down the mountain and there he is in a rail buggy with a tree run through his chest broke seat and pinned him against motor with his eyes still open...he was way dead...tree was a pine big as a coffee can broken off and had fallen sticking out into the dirt road ..I yelled for guy in back of truck my friend said he's gone .. he's creeping around here somewhere we never found dude or who he was they had been to cemetery and we're power sliding around the turns and tree got him....dont go down there looking for nothing.
