Built around 1840, this historic home stayed in the Purifoy family for well over a hundred years. It was sold in 1987 and changed hands a few times before being purchased by the Lipscomb family in 2000 for use as a private residence. The house is said to be haunted by a slave who fell into a nearby well and died; his spirit can still be seen on the front porch and wailing sounds are sometimes heard coming from the area.
