George O. Baker House
Selma, AL 36702
Built around 1854 for George O. Baker, this Neo-Classic home is believed to be haunted by the ghost of a Civil War soldier. It is said that during the Battle of Selma a wounded Union soldier crawled under the staircase in the Baker home, where he soon died. Blood is supposedly still visible in the spot where he once laid, and residents on the home have since reported being able to hear footsteps coming from above their heads, despite the fact the second story of the building burned down and was never replaced.
