Auburn University
Auburn, AL 36849
Auburn University is said to be haunted by Sydney, the ghost of a confederate soldier who first manifested in the 1920s. Sydney began to appear in the university chapel once a student acting troupe began using it. The troupe continued to use the building until 1973 when it was renovated to be an interdenominational chapel for the school, but rather than continue haunting the old church Sydney chose to follow the actors to their new home in the Telfair Peet Theatre. Apparently the ghost must love a good show, because he's still rumored to be haunting the theater!
