Lucas Tavern in Old Alabama Town is part of a group of historic buildings being preserved to provide a glimpse into Alabama's past. Apparently one of the Tavern's earliest owners, Eliza Lucas, has taken it upon herself to assist in that endeavor, as her ghost has been spotted standing in the doorway of the 19th century building. She is said to be rather friendly, smiling and waving at those who pass by, dressed in Victorian clothing.
