Also known as Thomas Covered Bridge, the Oakachoy Covered Bridge was a county owned bridge near State Route 259. The bridge was built in 1916 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1990, but vandals burned it to the ground on June 2, 2001. The spirit of a slave who was hanged nearby is said to have haunted the bridge, though it is unclear whether he has continued to appear after the burning.
